NEW CREATION OUTREACH CENTER

Meeting the Needs…Serving the Community”

About Us

The New Creation Outreach Center is a 501C-3 organization established by the New Creation Christian Church in 2004.  Since its inception, the New Creation Outreach Center has worked to meet the needs of the low-income youth and families in the Bushwick/ Bedford Stuyvesant Community of Brooklyn, NY.  The Mission Statement of the Center is “To cater to and promote the spiritual, physical and emotional growth of the individual as a whole.”

Consistently, the programs of the New Creation Outreach Center address community concerns in various areas.

EDUCATION

New Creation Outreach Center utilized education to raise the socioeconomic reach of the members in our community. The high diplomacy program and homework computer center provide education development. Through these programs students receive tutoring and enrichment while adults receive the opportunity to complete high school at any age. We are proud to report that our oldest graduate was over 60 years old.

The school supply giveaway was designed to offset the costs of school supplies for families and learners of all ages but primarily youth.

In the summer of 2015, the outreach center embarked on a new venture to provide a summer program that focuses on the arts (music, filmmaking, art) while providing learning activities.

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Providing meals for persons in need has been a major focus of the Outreach Center’s mission through the Food distribution center’s partnership with the New York Food Bank and the Thanksgiving meals through partnership with Greater Allen Cathedral and the New Creation Christian Church membership.

The winter season presents challenges for persons of low income therefore the Outreach Center has yearly provided coats through the Mayor of New York and the New York City Coat Drive initiative. In addition to coats, the Christmas toy giveaway allows children, adults and senior to receive gifts. Organization such as Toys for Tots, Amsterdam News and St. John’s Bread of Life and the Winter Initiative have all provided support for gift giving at Christmas.

Maintaining and Teaching the members of the community to live healthy lives is the premise for the Leap of Faith Basketball Tournament (Hoops for Health0 where young people play basketball and receive health information that will prevent the spread of gun violence, STD’s and substance abuse. This and other Health Ministry activities address issues of obesity, mental health and general health concerns through seminars, worship and individual consultation.

OUTREACH

The specific outreach activities of the Outreach Center include ministry to ex-offenders through our Chaplaincy Certification Program. Anchor House Substance Abuse Program has received consistent donations of personal hygiene needs from the Outreach Center. The Outreach Center has been instrumental in providing community service opportunites for persons in recovery.

When natural disasters occur, the Outreach Center attempts to provide support to the communities impacted by these tragedies. In the Hurricane Sander Relief effort The Outreach Center’s Annual Thanksgiving Dinner for the community was moved to provide dinner for survivors of the hurricane. This effort was support by the Outreach Center in collaboration with the Members of the New Creation Christian Church and New York City Leadership Alliance of the Christian Covenant Fellowship Of Ministries.

PARTNERSHIPS

The Outreach Center have partnered with the NAACP in order to advance the needs of the African American community. As a result of this partnership, Pastor, Bishop Wesley Knight hosts a weekly radio broadcast on Black Talk Radio entitled, “Let your voice be heard”. On this broadcast, community issues and concerns are the focus of the discussion.

To help community members to secure permanent housing, The Outreach Center has partnered with CAMBA to provide housing seminars for those in need of housing. Through this partnership, members of the community attended scheduled housing workshops and were linked to housing assistance programs.

The New Creation Outreach Center continues to develop programming that will allow the community to grow and the member of the community to flourish.
